In eight weeks, the USS Puget Sound sets sail to the Mediterranean Sea. Six sailors find themselves navigating uncharted waters before the ship even leaves the pier.
Set in the mid-1990s, ROCK THE BOAT is the first book in the We Were The Puget Sound Series about love and life in the Navy and the symbiotic, often complicated relationship sailors have with it.

About Danielle
Danielle Bailey is a Jill of most trades and an expert of some who is finally fulfilling a lifelong dream of being an author. Unabashedly obsessed with the 90s and with a nostalgic love for the Navy, she writes stories of a time when bell bottoms were the uniform of the day, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was the rule, and the only thing you had to worry about was staying out the eyes of the ship.
She grew up in South Bronx and joined the Navy at 17. After spending almost six years in, she moved to the beautiful state of Maine, where she’s lived for over 20 years with her mostly-adult three kids and two fur babies.
Daughters of Gwenneth Publishing
I started Daughters of Gwenneth Publishing as a way to honor my late mother, who was an avid reader. My dream for the publishing house is to be a business-based author's cooperative where each one will teach one by bringing their own unique knowledge, skills, and abilities to the co-op. I want a community of authors, editors, illustrators, beta readers, in-house critique partners, and social media mavens. We will all share the load, making the creative process easier for each of us to carry.
That is my dream. And I'll get there, one author at a time.
In The Navy:
January 18, 1994 to September 19, 1999
The Navy was the worst of times and the very best of times. But to be honest, those "worst times" were probably caused by my mouth and my attitude at 18 years old. I was fresh out of New York City. And you can take a girl out of the South Bronx, but you can't take the South Bronx outta the girl. There is no denying being a sailor changed my life in profound ways. I had some of the best loves, the most drama, and friendships that are still strong to this day. I would 100%, 10/10 do it again—there's so much shenaning and galivanting I didn't get to do!
